Quakes & Aftershocks

What is the focus of your current work?

I handle proposals, manage distribution and make sure that the money is being well spent. Now we are organizing summer efforts to hire 20 students to install 300 sensors throughout the Bay Area.

What fascinates you about earthquakes?

Itâs a big surprise. I was with my family at home on our top floor when I felt my first earthquake. It was a 5.2. We felt it suddenly. Not knowing when itâs going to strike makes even the small quakes a thrill.

How does your office help QCN to grow?

We are working closely with the Stanford legal and other licensing departments to cover the issues necessary for QCN and the early alert system to grow around the world.

What are your impressions of working at Stanford?

I love working at Stanford. It is a wonderful place to be part of, and such a wonderful community with cultural diversity, educational diversity and so many smart people here.
