QCN will be moving in June 2016 to a new (hopefully permanent) home based at the University of Southern California (USC) and supported by IRIS (the Incorporated Research Institutions for Seismology) and the SCEC (Southern California Earthquake Center). There may be unexpected "down time" as the data and web addresses are moved to quakecatcher.net. If all goes well you shouldn't have to change your BOINC program, as the web name server (DNS) should resolve to our new server when it's all setup. If you're not afraid with BOINC, you may wish to (when the time comes) "Detach Project" and then "Attach Project" to http://quakecatcher.net/sensor

There will also be new client programs compiled to reflect our new home and support; and hopefully update any drivers, bug fixes etc.

Hi Carl,

Good news I hope. Many are asking on other boards so I'll post the question here...
Do you know if they are going to start reporting BOINC credit on the new server?

If so could you/they make sure the databases on the new server are updated so they match the figures on this server? Not sure where that data came from but it is way off, looks like the majority of older credits were just thrown away?

As things are now if they turn on reporting I will lose another 523,546 Cobblestones if they turn on the credits again, this would be in addition to the 39,789 Cobblestones that disappeared here last May when you worked on the database.

Regards,
Bob

Hi, yes I plan (hope) to bring back credits, including calculating all the "back credits" from the months that none were reported. It should be your user/computer URL just substitute the new address ie http://quakecatcher.net/sensor/show_user.php?userid=20064

Thanks for the reply,

That is the URL I am looking at. My question is my total credit on the page is only 15,531, or 553,523 cobblestones shy of what it should be (569,054 cobblestones). Is the building of the credit database still a work in progress on the new site or will all that previous credit be "lost".

oh yeah, over a year ago I had to truncate a lot of the tables as the servers ran out of space. I'll have to see if it can be recreated on the new servers. I'm sure the old credits will be preserved somehow; as it can be recreated from the old trigger information (similar to what I did on CPDN, ie the last trigger for a result determines the credits)
